Booking an Evaluation
Preparing for Evaluation
What should I bring?
1) Latest vaccination records
2) Take your pup for a walk and potty break prior to dropping in
3) High value treats or toys
4) A shirt/piece of clothing that smells like your pups' favourite human if your pup may be anxious.
5) Secure harness/collar and leash. Double up your collar with a harness if your pup is skittish in new environments!
How long will Evaluation take?
The entire duration takes an estimated 1.5 hrs.
Owners / primary caretaker should be around for the 1st and last 15 mins for a quick chat so we can get a better sensing of you and your pup.
How does the process work?
1) Before arriving, please ensure the pre-arrival form has been filled in so we can better prepare for you and your pup.
2) During the session, there will be discussions and filling up of forms.
3) When your pup is with us, there will be physical checks and assessments for sensitivities etc
4) Your pup will also be introduced to the pack, humans and the facility.
How much will it cost?
A 1.5 hr evaluation costs $45. Fees are non-refundable.
The first Overnight Boarding/Play Group
should be booked within 4 months of evaluation.
What will be evaluated?
As Tails Up is a cage-free setting, dogs need to be suitable for a social setting without displaying severe anxiety, aggression, tendency to bite etc. Unneutered males will be evaluated for male-on-male aggression.
This is also a chance for your pup to meet the humans, potential fur-riends and explore the environment so there will be less surprises on her first day with us.
*If your dog may not be suitable for a social group setting, we urge you not to sign up for an evaluation. Together, we can protect all dogs in the facility.
Evaluation only needs to be done once?
Should no Overnight Boarding/Play Group be booked for a period of 4 months, your pup will have to go through a new session of Evaluation.
Can I reschedule my evaluation slot?
We love spending quality time with new furparents and pups to get a holistic picture. As such, evaluation slots are limited!
Booked evaluation slots can only be rescheduled a minimum of 3 days in advance. So the slot can be released for other pups!
End of year evaluations and boarding slots are limited, so we can better take care of our pups.
